The well renowned Football Association (FA) was founded on 26th October 1863. With its headquarters in London, United Kingdom, it is a member of the British Olympic Association. It is the governing body of Association Football in England, Crown dependencies of Jersey (Jersey Football Association), Isle of Man (Isle of Man Football Association), and Guernsey (Guernsey Football Association).
It is the oldest football association in the world (157 years) and is the core body that is responsible for administering and overseeing all aspects of the game. In the early 21st century, about 37,000 clubs and millions of players were represented by the Football Association. Greg Clarke is the chairperson of the FA.
