Most cleaning products are packed with toxins. So if you think you are doing the right thing by thoroughly cleaning every corner of the house with your spray all-purpose cleaner, then you are doing the wrong thing, at least as far as the air quality in your house is concerned. So give preference to natural products that contain as few ingredients as possible. Sodium bicarbonate, vinegar and lemon juice are your best allies in this case.
Provide a continuous supply of fresh air through ventilation grilles and / or open (flap) windows and ensure that air can flow through your house, through the space under the interior doors or grilles near windows or doors.
You can measure this with a hygrometer. The temperature in the entire house should be at least 18 to 20 degrees.
Avoid using harmful substances at home, paint with solvent-free paint and do not smoke in the house. Also do not use fireplaces and wood stoves.
Just opening a window is good for fresh air. However, the positive effect of an open window disappeared half an hour after the window was closed again. Good to know: airing your house briefly several times a day (maximum 10 minutes) is more effective than opening a window once.
Ventilate extra when you cook, shower, do odd jobs in the house, and when there are many people in the house. Do you have a mechanical ventilation system? Then set it to the highest setting.
